Organizations, volunteers awarded by Immploy Mentorship

London, ON – Organizations and volunteers in the Immploy Mentorship Program were recognized and awarded for their effort and engagement in mentorship activities throughout 2020.

The awards were presented virtually during the organization’s Annual Mentorship Event held on January 27, 2021.

“Congratulations to Stantec, Lisa Harrison from Alimentiv, Joan Fernandez from Ernst & Young, Karina Ramirez from Westburne, and Artem Serikov from RBC Bank,” said Fabio Bonfim, Mentorship Team Lead, Immploy. “We celebrate your achievement this evening and thank you for your continued support as you help to positively transform the lives of others.”

 The Awards

Key Contributor Award

Stantec was recognized as a key contributor for 2019 and 2020. Bursaries, made available to Immploy clients were used towards their educational advancement.

Inspiring Leadership Award

Lisa Harrison, Chief Operating Officer, Alimentiv and Joan Fernandez, Executive Assistant, Ernst & Young, have mentored newcomers for over five years. They won the award for their advocacy work regarding diversity and inclusion in the workforce, going beyond the call of duty to assist newcomers, and for mentoring new clients in 2020.

Alumni Award

Karina Ramirez, Automation Specialist, Westburne and Artem Serikov, Commercial Account Manager at RBC Royal Bank, are the recipients of this year’s award. This award acknowledges mentees returning to the Immploy Mentorship Program to serve as mentors. Through their engagement, mentees in 2020 gained employment in their respective fields.

Due to extenuating circumstances, the planned activities of many Immploy Champions were limited. As a result, no awards were given for the Mentorship Champion category. Nevertheless, Immploy recognized all its champions for their dedication and commitment to the program.

“With social distancing guidelines in place, 40% of 300 charities and non-profits surveyed in Canada had to suspend all volunteer engagement events much like the one we are having this evening,” said Alessia Zonta, Immploy Mentorship Advisor.

She added:

We stand in solidarity with you and the hardships you have had to overcome during these times. We want you to know we are here to support you. We call everyone to action in finding something their organization is passionate about and commit to incorporate it into their overall mission. It is our time to re-align our passions and find what light we can bring back into our community.
